Defining Value in Social Media part 5 of 5 – Be You Always

BE CONSISTANT, BE YOU, DO IT PUBLICLY

As a marketer in an incredibly competitive world I appreciate the Gordon Goldsmiths within it.   Gordon Goldsmith is a connector.  One look at his Twitter stream and you know that he comes out to every event, looks for opportunities to make connections. If you have ever spoken to him you know he is not doing it to work an angle it is because this is what he does.  It is him connecting people on twitter because he knows that they will benefit from knowing each other and he does this publicly.

When your personal Brand is consistant and true to who YOU are then it will resonate and be circulated with everyone you come in contact with.  There is no need to go after an audience, it will find you.

Social media – done the old school way happens in the DM’s it happens in the after hours, it happens in the warm smile and the generous invitations.  If you have not experienced this social media then you have not experienced it at all and designing a strategy that builds this network of people in it should be your 1st goal.    You can have this small town relationship with your customers.  You  can be the next leaders in this style and if you accept nothing else from your networks repeatable success will follow.

This wraps up the series,

Have a Happy holiday Season, I will be back in the new year.
