So great that you took the time to comment I am away from my laptop and (as a non- developer) I think a link will explain it with clarity that I can not offer at this time from. The tech is the same used readily in Japan. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Japan NFC- <a href="http://www.nearfieldcommunicationsworld.com/2010/11/11/34943/ntt-docomo-adds-nfc-tag-reading-to-wide-range-of-mobile-phones/" rel="nofollow">http://www.nearfieldcommunicationsworld.com/2010/11/11/34943/ntt-docomo-adds-nfc-tag-reading-to-wide-range-of-mobile-phones/</a>

In the meetup- Tim explained that unlike a QR code which is readable only (readable tag), a NFC tag can read an existing message and leave a message behind (writeable tag). That how I understand it. When I went looking at the Best Buy online store I could not find these tags. Any one out there successful I finding them?

Hey,
Thanks for taking notes, I was not able to attend!
Just curious about "2-way writable tags" - what are you referring to?
Thanks!
